One of the best road trip for your diary or blog is a roadtrip at Coromandel peninsula in New Zealand’s North Island. Just one and a half hour drive from Auckland International Airport.

Coromandel offers you and your vehicle buddy stunning white sandy beaches, sights, and activities. Its beaches can always delight you for a swim, a kayak, a surf, a dive, some fishing or just a lazy walk around. Its sights offers never ending angles for your cameras. Things to do aside from water activities are bush walking, motorcycling, hiking, camping, train rides, golfing, or just park your motorhome somewhere to give you sunset and relax on your outside table.

The Hideaway at Flaxmill Bay is one of the candidates among campgrounds for campers. Powered sites start from $35 – $50 not probably as cheap as the other parks but the place is hard to leave. Hideaway at Flaxmill Bay is located at the Cooks Beach end of scenic Flaxmill Bay, directly opposite Shakespeare Cliff and a short nature walk to Lonely Bay. It is a 10 minute drive to Hahei and Cathedral Cove (10km) and 15km to Hot Water Beach. If you ever wanted to ask more about their facilities a ring is always helpful phone: 07 866 2386.

The Hot Water Beach is one of the destination of Coromandel, if you intend to find a park closer to Hot Water Beach, it must be the Hot Water Beach Holiday Park only opened its doors in 2008 and has been earning a reputation. The park is located 5 minutes from the Beach and powered sites for motorhome starts at $18-$20. The numbers are 07 866 3116.

The scenes in Coromandel are among the best of North Island. Its attractions are worth to be revisited and the friendliness just makes the holiday lighter. The Coromandel town is the art centre of the Peninsula. Other places to check out are the Coromandel Town , Corville and the Northern Coast, and the 309 Road & Waiau Stream that keeps the the Waiau Falls.

Lately there has been a huge amount of publicity about leaky buildings here in New Zealand. These buildings are ones that were built for the most part in the early 1970’s through the mid 1990’s. One classic example of a leaky building from this era would be monolithic clad buildings. However any building using untreated pine for external structure is particularly susceptible to what has come to be known as the Leaky Building Syndrome.

What is Leaky Building Syndrome?

Unfortunately many properties in Auckland are affected by this problem. This is when moisture is trapped or has access to untreated structural timbers without adequate ventilation to permit quick drying. The process begins once untreated pine is damp. Various black fungi begin to grow. At this point, even if the water egress is fixed, the black fungi that have set up in the wood will attract moisture from the atmosphere themselves and the rotting will continue. This ultimately will lead to an extreme negative impact on the structural integrity of the building. The adverse affects of this problem aren’t limited to the buildings alone as the black fungus spores can also lead to respiratory diseases to the inhabitants as well.

Individuals looking at property for sale in Auckland or any other part of New Zealand need to be aware of this problem. Purchasers should obtain a report from a reputable company familiar with leaky buildings before making a purchase. A standard builder doing a normal building check is likely to miss dampness behind a gib board. Thus, to be 100% positive, specific testing may need to be conducted using infrared monitors. In some cases core sampling of structural members may need to be taken. It sounds like a hassle, but it is well worth it to be sure your potential home or investment is not affected by this costly problem.

A monolithic building may not leak for many years, so a test showing no evidence of water ingress may not mean, in itself, that the building is immune to the problem occurring in the future.

What should a purchaser look for?

There are four major things to look for when purchasing a property for sale in New Zealand:

1) Any multi-storey building with plaster over some form of board requires an expansion/movement joint and flashing between stories. Without these expansion joints, hair cracking will occur at some point which will allow moisture access into the structure. This moisture can then travel through capillary action and cause large amounts of damage.

2) The base of a plastered board should never go to ground level. If gardens have been built against such buildings then moisture, through soil via capillary action, will gain access into the walls.

3) Many of the buildings built in the aforementioned era previously did not have sloping iron roofs with deep eaves. Flashings then had to be very extensive to ensure that moisture was not driven into walls by the wind.

4) Many of the buildings described have flat, “inverted” roofs with some form of rubberised membrane. Again, if the plastering is inadequate or the membrane itself is damaged then moisture will enter leading to further problems

Any reputable company specializing in surveying leaky buildings should be able to identify any current problems and will be able to predict possible(and probable) issues for the future.

The potential costs of a leaky building are immense. My advice to any purchaser looking to buy property in New Zealand that was built in the time frame mentioned with any of the above characteristics is to do a thorough check, whatever the cost. Better to spend a little now in order to avoid a leaky home and costly repairs in the future.

Storming out of their hometown of Auckland, The Rabble are exploding out of New Zealand and into the hearts of punks worldwide. Harnessing the advantages of both experience and youth, this powerful and passionate band have been a band for over seven years but they’re still only just out of their teenage years and are truly unstoppable. One listen to the gravelly vocals and infectious soulful punk anthems on their 16-track second album ‘The Battle’s Almost Over’ and you’ll be hooked.

Formed in 2001 by brothers Chazz and Rupe at the young ages of 14 and 15 respectively, the first six years saw them honing their gritty yet catchy sound and seeing several bassists come and go, before settling on recent addition Jamie Douglass. Their DIY ethos has seen them independently release debut album ‘No Clue, No Future’, the ‘This Is Our Lives’ EP and the mighty sophomore full-length ‘The Battle’s Almost Over’. Relentlessly touring all over New Zealand, the UK and Europe over the last few years alongside Agnostic Front, The Unseen and The Living End, to name just a few, they’re also no strangers to festival stages, playing to over 1500 people at Auckland’s Big Day Out and, more recently, to a crowd of over 2000 on the main stage at the Blackpool Rebellion Festival. Having given away a compilation of their best songs, titled ‘New Generation’, with issue 102 of Big Cheese Magazine, their huge accompanying UK headline tour of the same name has recently won them many more fans up and down the country and spread the fire of The Rabble burning bright into the Northern hemisphere. So what inspired their several month-long mission to the other side of the globe at this time?

“We decided we were strong enough to take our music to the world now after all these years, starting with the UK and Europe. We have a new generation of punk rock music at hand. The UK deserves another round of real, honest and soulful music and we want to kick off that march!” vocalist/drummer Rupe confidently declares.

It’s surely fate that The Rabble charge into England, as they meld the sounds of ’77 legends The Clash with more recent American heroes Rancid, while adding inspired flavours of hardcore (‘This World Is Dead’), rock n’ roll (‘Seeking’), rockabilly (‘Devil’s Highway’), Celtic sounds (‘The Battle’) and an irrepressible spirit all of their own. The album has spawned three hit singles in New Zealand to date, with the fourth single ‘The Battle’ set to hit radio and TV in time for the re-release of ‘The Battle’s Almost Over’, and, having conquered their homeland, they’ve now set their sights on the rest of the world. ‘The Battle’s Almost Over’ was again recorded by vocalist/guitarist Chazz in his own Number 8 Wire Recording Studio and mixed by Jim Siegel (Dropkick Murphys) in Boston, their latest record was a suitably international affair. The ambitious rabble-rousers even secured guest vocals by their new friend Mark Unseen, frontman of Boston hardcore-infused punks The Unseen (who they have shared stages with), on the raging ‘This World Is Dead’!

“Chazz and I have been big fans for a lot of years,” Rupe explains. “We really got on with Mark and kept in touch over the internet and eventually thought why not ask him to sing guest vocals on a track we had coming up that was fast and hardcore?” Laying down his part in the US, Mark was flown over by The Rabble to appear in the video for the song too. “The whole experience was mind-blowing and we’ve made a lifelong friend!”

On ‘The Battle’s Almost Over’ the three-piece have a clear message. “The theme for the record is generally that freedom’s battle is almost over, but the war is just beginning,” declares Rupe. The album is full of songs stressing positivity through perserverance and hope through struggle. “We have a soulful message that doesn’t only concentrate on hatred. I think the world needs that. We don’t ignore the negative, we embrace it and turn it around! We wanted to make an album that makes people take notice of their surroundings and help The Rabble put punk rock back on the map!”

The Rabble are doing just that, stamping their mark from country to country. With a deep belief in their songs and a dedication and determination to relentlessly tour and spread their music and message, it’s no wonder that Rupe confirms, “the sky’s the fuckin’ limit!”

“The Rabble is my life, The Rabble is my hope, mine and my brother’s creation that is as beautiful as a red rose and as stand out as a black sheep in a field of white.”

Battling on and winning fans and friends worldwide, the war may be just beginning but The Rabble’s awesome arsenal will see their punk rock army grow and grow. Raise your voice and rise up.

‘The Battle’s Almost Over’ is available now on Crusade Records.

The market is flooded with companies that will lucre you to the deal and the aftermath you suffer. It becomes very difficult to decide which company to choose from as everyone is having their own USP. You have your quote with you and you feel you are done to find that there are other deposits to be added on. This is at the end a personal preference though. The company you choose depends on your budget to hire a van and the type you have chosen for the job. Grab the best deal as soon as you had your eye on it.

While most of the companies would not tell you about the way to chose the right van. There are two categories:-

SWB stand for Short Wheel Base LWB stand for Long Wheel Base.

The wheelbase has great impact on the balancing movement of the van. It is the measure between the axles of the front and rear wheels. How will and how much a van can handle the load, all depends upon the wheelbase.

Now the next thing to consider is type, you know which base your van should have, the type of van. There are basically three types of vans widely used.

Transit van: – It is used for vacation purposes. It is quite small. It has got sloping sides so it is not suitable for packing. Luton box van:-It is used for moving house. It is medium- sized 7.5 tonne wagon: – It is a truck used for heavy loads.

Once you have considered the type, get the quote. Understand it from the company representative and ask as many questions you can. Don’t keep any doubts in your mind. It is you who are going to pay. Ask for the insurance if they are offering, discounts, fuelling and fines if you are not able to return on time, on the way assistance and hidden costs. If you require a driver, ask for the fees (check the driver license).

HAVE A GREAT JOURNEY!!!

If you love greenery in your surrounding and are intending to add plants, just think about what kinds of plants grow well in your area. In this context, you may need experts’ suggestion to know what plants are local to your region so that your success rate of growing these plans could be higher with lower maintenance cost.

Here comes a name ParadiseLandscapes. At least for Auckland people, there is no need to worry because they have their own local landscape designer which is undoubtedly the best one in its niche. In a very short span, they have become emblem of garden maintenance New Zealand. Their immaculate expertise on design and planting guide can turn you house, office and surroundings into a mesmerizing paradise. It is true that maintenance cost for landscaping features such as water features and plant may cost you a bomb and most of the companies charge unfair amount from their clients.

So, you need credible experts’ suggestion. They will inspect the place and check soil quality and match with requirement. Sometimes, you may have to spend a fortune to fertilizer that plot of land, just to make sure that the plant is growing healthily. The matter is not over yet. After soil inspection and quality fertilizers feeding, you need to purchase plants. So, always prefer good quality store and again ask experts to check the health of plants. It is almost impossible to check possibilities of disease or insect problems in plants for a common man.

Usually, stores do not offer their plants the kind of care that a nursery would. Just imagine if you got your favorite plant diseased, you’ll have to get it all over again when it dies, and this means cash down the drain. We are lucky ones if we are in Auckland as we have services of ParadiseLandscapes. We all wish to have optimum output for all our expenses and efforts and we get the exact same thing through ParadiseLandscapes’ experts.

So, landscape designers are probably the only one people who have capability to turn the ugliest one place into a paradise. Nowadays, technology has also enhanced their efforts and made them more efficient.
